Pizza delivery man Jamie wows audiences
|
Now the Susan Boyle backlash has kicked off, could there be an opening in the public’s hearts for another Britain’s Got Talent star?
Yes, we’re talking about pizza delivery man Jamie Pugh, who wowed judges and audiences alike on Saturday’s show when he overcame his nerves and delivered a rousing rendition of ‘Bring Him Home’ from Les Miserables.
But the 38-year-old might not have what it takes to become an International Singing Sensation – because apparently he doesn’t know many other tunes. “If you had asked me to sing any other song I wouldn’t be able to, because I don’t know many songs,” Jamie told the Daily Mirror. “But ‘Bring Him Home’ comes from my heart. It’s about what I might have lost through choices I’ve made.”
He added: “This is going to sound really weird – I fear success but I don’t fear failure. I’ve got to appear on a TV show and I’m dreading it. I’m a wreck – I’m not a star.”
Pull yourself together, man! “What you have to realise is that I personally don’t feel I can sing,” said the insecure star. “Now if there’s an expectation I can sing, it makes things even worse. If I think about my next performance I will get a head full of broken toys.”
Yikes. And now actress Demi Moore has weighed in, writing on Twitter: “So moving. Teary again.” It’s probably best no one tells Jamie, in case he cracks up.
Luckily, if he fails to defeat the Hairy Angel, there’s always the pizza delivery job. Said Jamie: “It’s a brilliant job because you get to meet people and give them pizza.” It does sound rather good, when you put it like that…
